Duma Works is recruiting an Accounts Payable Clerk for our client. A Conservancy comprising of Ranching and a High-end Hospitality property in Laikipia area.

POSITION: Accounts Payable Clerk
Reporting to the Finance Manager

Main Role

  • Processing of supplier invoices and reconciling any discrepancies
  • Process payment requests and supplier remittances
  • Processing of statutory taxes based on invoices processed
  • Ensure accuracy of data entry into the accounting software
  • Maintain accurate creditors ledger

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Maintain supplier accounts and ensure accuracy of data posted
  • Verify the accuracy of vendor invoices and confirm that the correct general ledger account codes are used
  • Flag questionable invoice prices or terms
  • Reconcile supplier accounts on a monthly basis and agree to the creditors control account
  • Ensure all payment requests are supported by properly authorised documents
  • Respond to supplier queries and issues in a timely manner
  • Monitor all accounts and ensure payments are made as per agreed credit terms
  • ­Forwarding of payment remittances to suppliers
  • Stamping and filling of invoices after payment
  • Filing supplier documents
  • Prepare reports on accounts payable as assigned.
  • Prepare VAT and WHT information for submission to statutory authorities
  • Any other duties as may be assigned by management from time to time

Requirements;

  • Age – above 30 years
  • KCSE Minimum D+ (plus)
  • Diploma in Accounting / CPA(II) / ACCA – Part completion
  • 5 years’ experience in similar role
  • Willing to work upcountry and live on site (or be based in Nanyuki Town)

 

Skills

  • Proficiency in Computers, with excellent skills in Excel
  • Knowledge Accounting Packages, e.g. Sage, Pascal etc
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Ability to communicate in English & Kiswahili
  • Customer Care Skills
  • Integrity and confidentiality
  • Team player
  • Excellent time management and information transfer

 

Added Advantage

  • Knowledge of Hospitality Accounting and Controls
