Out client a mogul in the educational field seeks to recruit a Finance & HR Manager


Income and Expenditure

  • Monitor income and expenditure in relation to the school’s budget, producing regular reports for the School Administration Manager
  • Coding of income and expenditure
  • In conjunction with the School Administration Manager, manage the schools financial systems for private and/or public funds
  • Oversee the financial cashless system

Sales and Purchase Ledger

  • Manage the Purchase Ledger function
  • Manage the Sales Ledger / Credit Control function Budget and Accounting
  • Provide budget holders with monthly updates of their accounts and advise them on matters relating to their budgets
  • Management of Imprest Petty Cash System
  • Accounting month end including the reconciliation of control accounts
  • Assist with budget, cash flow preparation and reporting
  • Timely completion of monthly VAT Return
  • Identify and process accruals and prepayments
  •  Assist with the internal and external audit process
  • Maintain and oversee all bank accounts including the school’s charge card, completing monthly reconciliations
  • Present all bank reconciliations, for all bank accounts, to the School Administration Manager/Head Teacher on a monthly basis
  • Management of cheque / BACS payments
  • Support the production of the statutory accounts

Assets and Contracts

  • Maintain a list of approved suppliers for annual approval by the governing body
  • Maintain and produce service contracts register for annual approval by relevant personnel
  • Maintain the schools asset register ensuring that it is updated regularly
  • In conjunction with the School Administration Manager, review on an annual basis, the Financial Hand Book and school’s Charging and Remissions Policy

Human Resource Management

  • Manage parents’ queries and concerns with regards to the school policy
  • Support parents’ events as part of the senior leadership team
  • Maintain and update all statutory and in-school policies in line with national and/or local guidance annually
  • Involvement in the recruitment and selection process, as appropriate
  • Undertake the administration of new starters including processing clearances, application forms, and appointment checklists
  • Drafting and creating personalized letters of correspondence to new staff
  • Managing the payroll services for all school staff including the management of pension schemes and associated services, and administration of all changes and leavers
  • Ensuring staff have a clear understanding of HR policies and procedures and the importance of putting them into practice
  • Monitoring the way policies and procedures are actioned and provide support where necessary
  • Ensuring all required records are kept current and any statutory returns completed in a timely manner
  • Undertake the administration related to newly qualified teachers and those gaining qualified teacher status through the school
