Duma Works is recruiting a Payroll Clerk  for our client. A Conservancy comprising of Ranching and a High-end Hospitality property in Laikipia area.

POSITION: Payroll Clerk
Reporting to the Finance Manager

Main Role

  • Coordinate the recording of staff attendance and validity of data
  • Ensure all staff are valid as employees
  • Ensure accurate and timely postings in payroll system
  • Prepare payroll reports
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Ensures accuracy of all data
  • Ensures confidentiality is maintained of all staff data
  • Maintains payroll information by collecting all leave, overtime & other deductions information for all staff on a monthly basis.
  • Consolidates and uploads all payroll data into the payroll software.
  • Updates payroll records: changes, deductions, new hires, transfers, separations, etc
  • Prepares monthly payroll reports for the management and statutory purposes
  • Prepares and issues payslips in a timely manner
  • Prepares monthly payroll journals
  • Reconciles all payroll ledgers
  • Prepare information for submission of payroll related statutory returns
  • Provide employees with their P9 forms at the end of the year
  • Provide administrative support to the accounts department
  • Provide assistance to the HR department
  • Any other duties as may be assigned by management from time to time

Requirements;

  • Age – above 30 years
  • KCSE Minimum D+ (plus)
  • Diploma in Accounting / CPA(II) /ACCA progress
  • 5 years’ experience in a similar role
  • Willing to work upcountry and live on site (or be based in Nanyuki Town)

 

Skills

  • Proficiency in Computers, with excellent skills in Excel
  • Knowledge of Accounting Packages, e.g. Sage
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Ability to communicate in English & Kiswahili
  • Customer Care Skills
  • Integrity and confidentiality
  • Team player
  • Excellent time management and information transfer

 

Added Advantage

  • Knowledge of Hospitality Accounting and Controls
