Duma Works is recruiting an experienced sales coordinator for our client; a young, innovative and ambitious cashew nut brand that is working hard to create more value for rural communities. Headquartered in Zanzibar, Tanzania, our client is looking to expand operations in Kenya.

Job Description

The sales coordinator will be tasked with leading and executing the sales operations for the company in Kenya. This will entail leading the sales team to manage retail customer accounts, developing new channels and planning the development of robust sales strategies.


  • Lead the sales team in planning the development of robust sales strategies
  • Develop or increase business from existing customers by ensuring performance by product
  • Responsible to achieve sales targets, maintain good relationships with retail outlets
  • Understand and analyze competitor’s products
  • Deliver sales target for all products by executing the distribution strategy at the channel partner level
  • Ensure availability of stock at retail while adhering to the norms
  • Execute promotional activities for channel partners to drive sales and build market credibility
  • Channel development with innovative customer-facing displays
  • Aggressive execution of Sales programs (i.e. new promotions/trade engagement/new launches) to deliver targeted numbers of customer and revenue
  • Attend local trade shows and exhibitions – working with the marketing team on new product launches and variety of other market communications initiatives
  • Timely collection of the market information such as competitor activities &initiatives and analyze the same with the help of Sales Director to pre-empt its impact on the business programs
  • Compile and submit/present weekly sales performance reports, market accompaniment reports and daily  activity reports
  • Ensure the recruitment of high caliber merchandisers to drive performance across channels
  • Effectively manage the team and the customers within the assigned territory with strategic input and support from Sales Director


  • Minimum of 2 years experience in a fast-paced and performance-driven environment
  • A combination of previous experience in sales, operations – preferably in the FMCG sector
  • Entrepreneurial mindset (ability to spot and take advantage of opportunities)
  • Sales techniques and concept selling skills
  • Proven history of hitting sales targets & volumes
  • Excellent excel skills
  • Demonstrated effectiveness in all the areas outlined in the roles and responsibilities
